Description

A tachi at 103 cm with 2.2 cm of sori, forged from patterned steel and finished by clay tempering, mounted in copper over a wild rayskin tsuka.

Unsharpened collector configuration. Sold and fulfilled unsharpened for adult collection and display only.

The workshop supplies this blade as patterned steel. We describe the grain as it appears on the blade, not as a claim about how it was made — no layer count or joining process has been verified, so none is stated. Clay tempering is a differential heat treatment, and the temper line running along the blade is its boundary.

The saya is lacquered cypress with copper furniture throughout. Blade 72 cm within a 103 cm overall, 3.2 cm wide and 0.7 cm thick at the base, tsuka 26 cm.
