Description

A short sword on a black lacquered saya inlaid with shell — a pale dragon worked in mother-of-pearl, trailing iridescent abalone leaves and small pink blossoms. The inlay is set into the lacquer rather than printed on it.

The blade is 1065 carbon steel, mirror-polished, and carries a deep curve running out to a long sweeping tip.

Fittings are copper: a small pierced openwork tsuba and a copper fuchi ring. Black ito over pearl rayskin, a black-and-white sageo, and an amber kurikata accent. Ships in a fitted presentation box.
