Description
A tachi with a 6 cm curvature and the most ornate mounts in this group: a deep burgundy lacquered saya set with gold chrysanthemum roundels, purple ito with gold menuki, and gold habaki, tsuba and kojiri throughout.
The blade is 1060 carbon steel, mirror-polished to a white finish, with a water-wave pattern described in the supplier sheet. The pattern formation method is not confirmed. It tapers from 3.21 cm at the base to 2.5 cm at the tip, and from 0.7 cm to 0.51 cm in thickness. The yokote is simulated rather than cut.
Fittings are zinc alloy over synthetic rayskin, with a patterned floral sageo in white, orange and black.
