Description

A clay-tempered katana in a deep wine-red gloss saya, wrapped in green ito with a matching green sageo, over genuine rayskin.

The blade is T1095 steel, differentially hardened with a clay coating so the temper line is formed rather than printed, and finished by an eighteen-stage hand water-polish as declared by the workshop.

The tsuba is a round bronze-tone plate with dense karakusa (arabesque scrolling vine) openwork, paired with a gold-tone habaki. The saya is lacquered cypress.
