The blade is workshop-forged folded pattern steel, quenched and hand-finished so the fold lines stay visible. The tang is one piece and pinned with mekugi. Overall 67 cm / 26.4 in; blade 42 cm / 16.5 in; about 750 g out of the saya.

Tsuba, fuchi, kashira and habaki are solid brass — not painted zinc. The saya is hardwood with horn mouth and end fittings, not a sprayed lacquer tube.
