Black and white speckle is thrown across a red lacquer ground, so the saya reads as a mottled surface instead of a flat one. The handle goes a different direction entirely: purple ito with red diamonds.

Description

Unsharpened collector configuration. Sold and fulfilled unsharpened for adult collection and display only.

The blade measures 72 cm, high carbon steel with a bo-hi fuller cut along it, and arrives unsharpened. One continuous tang carries it into the 27 cm tsuka, secured by mekugi pins.

The habaki is brass; the tsuba, kashira and the rest of the mounting are zinc alloy.

Care

Wipe the blade with a light machine oil after handling. Store horizontally, edge up, away from humidity.
