Description

The black lacquer on this saya is not flat: a fine speckle runs through it. The tsuka is wrapped in black ito, red diamonds showing at each cross.

Unsharpened collector configuration. Sold and fulfilled unsharpened for adult collection and display only.

The steel is high carbon with a bo-hi fuller, and the same bar continues unbroken into the tsuka, where mekugi pins hold it. The edge ships unsharpened.

Where the blade meets the saya there is a brass habaki; the rest of the fittings are zinc alloy.

Care

Wipe the blade with a light machine oil after handling. Store horizontally, edge up, away from humidity.
