Description

A katana built around a four-lobed brass tsuba carved in deep relief — chrysanthemum and other blooms filling the plate front and back, with pierced heart-shaped openings at each corner.

The blade is 5160 spring steel, mirror-polished by an eighteen-stage hand water-polish as declared by the workshop. The habaki is plain brass, left unornamented against the carved plate.

The saya is lacquered cypress in red, broken up by a dense black mottle. Black ito over wild rayskin, with small gold menuki.
